UK Powerhouse Tracker reveals which UK towns and cities are showing the most economic strength – most in the top 10 have Citibase business centres helping SME’s, entrepreneurs and start-ups to grow and thrive

The latest quarterly Powerhouse Tracker from Irwin Mitchell – a unique city-by-city forecast of the economic strength devised by Cebr – has shown which places around the country have shown the best year on year growth in GVA (gross value added – the value of goods and services produced).

The top 10 places were in the July 2016 report were:

1. Milton Keynes +2.4%
2. Cambridge +2.4%
3. Oxford + 2.3%
4. Outer London +2.2%
5. Birmingham +2.1%
6. Nottingham +2.1%
7. Manchester +2.1%
8. Coventry +2.0%
9. Liverpool +2.0%
10. Southampton +1.9%

Citibase offers fully serviced business centres in 7 of the top 10 and in many more locations in the rest of the rankings.  In May, June and July this year Citibase saw the largest volume of business across its UK portfolio, in nearly a quarter century of trading, with a 50% increase in the value of contracts signed. This indicates the apparent resilience of the UK economy, in particular amongst SMEs, entrepreneurs and start-ups who are the future of the New Economy and whom are a large percentage of the customers of Citibase. From our own research we know that these businesses want the flexibility and affordability offered by a business centre, with Citibase taking care of their office needs, leaving them to focus on what’s important, running and growing their business.
