Brighton has always been a vibrant city brimming with endless culture, art and entertainment as well as a multitude of shops, restaurants and bars. Ideally located just a short walk from Brighton’s unique and vibrant North Laines, railway station and famous seafront, Citibase Brighton is a one-of-a-kind place to base and grow your business with fantastic offices to rent.

We had a cuppa and a chinwag with the Manager Laura Hunter (pictured above) to get her top tips (and tipple!) on the best things to do and see in Brighton.

Being located a stone’s throw from the famous North Laines of Brighton in a striking gothic building, can you tell us what makes Citibase Brighton such a unique place to work?

Citibase Brighton is unique in itself being a beautiful Gothic Styled Building built in 1854. It certainly has a sense of mystery about it. I would definitely say that it reflects the character of Brighton being quirky, friendly and very intriguing. With a grand stairwell, beautiful gothic style windows and high ceilings you often feel like you have gone back in time. It really is a very special place to work, set in fantastic location which is close to vibrant North Laines (pictured below), train station and main commuter roads.

Nice easy question for you – what is your favourite thing to do/visit in Brighton?

One of my favourite times of year in Brighton is during the Brighton Fringe festival in May which is an open access arts festival. It is the largest annual arts festival in England and one of the largest fringe festivals in the world. Brighton is bouncing with art, theatre, music and dance – the streets feel alive as you walk down them!

When the summertime hits, Brighton really comes into its own. From the Centre you can walk down to the famous North Laines and enjoy all the amazing independent shops, cafes, bars and restaurants as well as being just a stone throw from the seafront where you can enjoy sunbathing on your lunch break!

And what are your favourite hotspots that you’d to recommend to people?

A definite hot spot for me is the Paris House on Western Road (pictured below) – a brilliant bar if you enjoy live jazz/blues any night of the week whilst enjoying a meat & cheese platter and of course a carafe of red wine. You will always be made to feel at home and sometimes you can just pretend you are in Paris for the night.

Café Plenty is a cosy spot located at Circus Parade which is just a 2 minute walk from the Centre. Brought to life by local art work, this is the perfect place to escape and enjoy freshly baked bread & cakes with your coffee. Partnering with Brighton coffee specialists they offer Customers the perfect blend using a combination of Brazilian and Sumatran beans – never a disappointment! They also offer a great breakfast and lunch menu to be enjoyed with your colleagues.

What are your top tips for beating the busy city life in Brighton?

A perfect place to relax after a day’s work would have to be the Pavilion Gardens (pictured bottom), which is not even a 10 minute walk away. The gardens surround the Royal Pavilion which is an exotic Palace built as a seaside pleasure palace for King George IV. The gardens are full of beautiful flowers beds and the perfect place for a picnic in the sun.

What are the benefits of growing your business in the heart of Brighton?

Brighton is a place full of creative, open minded people and there is a wonderful sense of community here benefiting any growing business. There is a unity to Brighton that makes it special. Being full of young students, ideas and never-ending community projects Brighton can truly inspire anyone living here and we have helped numerous small businesses grow and prosper here at Citibase Brighton.
